The Hip Richies is a project I've recently put together with pianist Victor Mestas, Drummer Raoul Rossiter, and bassist Mark Simon. Victor, Raoul, and I play in Ginga, a Brazilian Samba group, and we've all worked with Mark Simon in various settings. The theme of this band is that we cover the gamut of styles. Since we all come from such different backgrounds, genre-jumping works quite well. So far the response for this band has been outstanding, and we're looking forward to our first show at Dazzle.
